Homeopathy for Menopause

What is menopause?

Menopause is a natural biological process marking the end of menstrual cycles.  This is when there has been a decline of hormones and when you haven't had a period for more than 12 months.  This is because the ovaries have stopped producing eggs.

References to the menopause can be traced as far back as the 1800s.  In the 1930s menopause started to be described as a deficiency disease, and this was when HRT started to be manufactured.

GPs will generally prescribe HRT (hormone replacement therapy) and may also antidepressants.

However, there is another way to manage the effects of the menopause, and that is naturally.  Homeopathy can help.

Menopausal symptoms

In the months and years leading up to menopause, known as peri-menopause, symptoms are different for every woman but can include:

  • Irregular periods

  • Hot flushes

  • Night sweats

  • Vaginal dryness

  • Sleep issues

  • Weight gain and slower metabolism

  • Anxiety or depression

  • Mood swings

  • Migraines

  • Thinning hair

  • Dry skin or itchy skin

These symptoms can start in peri-menopause and continue through to true menopause.

Some women can have a terrible time during menopause, whereas others have very few symptoms.
